34th ITF Seniors World Championships to serve up 58 countries at 8 outstanding tennis facilities in Palm Beach County – Largest ever international participation in tournament’s history
Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. April 20  – Tennis players from 58 countries have entered to compete in the tournaments of the 2014 ITF Seniors World Championships which open this week in Palm Beach County.
The marquee event will begin with Team championships on April 21 – 26, followed by Individual Championships from April 27 – May 4.
Eight outstanding tennis facilities have been selected as venues for the 15-day event.
Matches will be played over the next two weeks at BallenIsles Country Club as Host site in North County, Mirasol Country Club, PGA National Resort, Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center, Polo Club of Boca Raton as Host site in South County, Boca West Country Club, Boca Grove Country Club and Woodfield Country Club.
Team Championships Opening Ceremonies for the Boca Raton sites will be held at the Polo Club, Sunday, April 20 at 3 p.m. Team Championships Opening Ceremonies for the Palm Beach Gardens sites will be held at BallenIsles Country Club, Sunday, April 20 at 4p.m.
The Opening Ceremonies for the Individual Championships will be held at the Gardens Mall on Sunday, April 27 at 5 p.m. “Key Sponsors have signed on, including Bank of America, Florida Power & Light, Kolter Homes, Maui Jim, MGarzon Fashion, PDQ, Solfire, BurgerFi, Ed Morse Automotive Group, USPTA, the Tennis Warehouse, BRIO Tuscan Grille, P.F.Chang’s and Nordstrom Cafe Bistro” said BallenIsles Tennis Director and Tournament Chairperson, Trish Faulkner.
The Palm Beach County Sports Commission has projected that the economic impact of the event could exceed $2.5 million. The 2014 ITF Seniors World Championships are endorsed by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, Palm Beach County Convention & Visitors Bureau, International Tennis Federation, United States Tennis Association and the Florida USTA.
