Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. Apr 9 – The storied golf courses at BallenIsles Country Club, where many golf legends like Arnold Palmer originally qualified for the PGA Tour, have a new title – Host to the largest one-day-Golf-event fundraiser for the charity that bears Palmer’s name.
BallenIsles donated a record $86,000, beating the record it set last year, to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF).  It’s the largest donation from a one-day Golf event in the history of “battles” for Arnie’s Army, Arnold Palmer’s unique fundraising golf challenge that benefits the PCF.
“It’s events like the one produced at BallenIsles that lead me to believe great accomplishments will be rewarded with great results for the men in our world and we will find a cure very soon!  Dan Roberts, Mark Freeman and the BallenIsles Men’s Golf Association should not only be very proud of what they accomplished this year, but growing support over the last three years, in a difficult economy, speaks volumes about their desire to see progress made for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.  On behalf of the millions men in the world suffering from this disease, I am truly grateful,” said Chris Conway, PCF’s Director of Golf, Sports Enterprises.

BallenIsles GM Derrick Barnett, Men’s Golf Association’s Dan Robert & Mark Freeman with BallenIsles Country Club’s Director of Golf, Brian Kelley and Chris Conway, PCF’s Director of Golf, Sports Enterprises celebrate the donation to Arnie’s Army.

About Arnie’s Army Battles Prostate Cancer
Arnie’s Army Battles Prostate Cancer is a unique fundraising and awareness campaign of the Prostate Cancer Foundation.  The program is designed to help organizers and participants use golf as a fundraising tool to raise money for better treatments and a cure for prostate cancer. Every dollar raised by Arnie’s Army tournaments goes directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation where it is deployed rapidly to support advanced prostate cancer research for the development of better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for this disease that strikes 1 out of every 6 American men.  Arnie’s Army Battles Prostate Cancer has had modest success raising money through various volunteer operated functions, primarily in the area of individual community based golf tournaments.
