Introduces First Systems Implementation Specialist

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. and Salt Lake City, May 16 /– EMRConsultant announced today that it is finalizing plans for release of Version 2 of its proprietary method for guiding physicians and medical groups implementing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR).

“Version 2 will more closely match physician practices to EMR manufacturer systems based on the physician’s desire for certain features such as functionality and price range, and offer an even more robust way to help physicians refine specific choices than Version 1 was able to do,” said Systems Implementation Specialist Ursula Pennell.

EMRConsultant.com is exhibiting at booth # 1021 during the annual health technology conference, “Toward an Electronic Patient Record” (TEPR), May 16 – 18.

“More physicians and medical groups are looking to us for independent help rather than a sales pitch when trying to choose from a confusing array of EMR or EHR possibilities,” Pennell said.

Pennell’s recent appointment at EMRConsultant is also part of the strategic growth in the firm’s services to physicians and practice managers considering the move to electronic medical record keeping.

Prior to joining EMRConsultant, Pennell was EMR Administrator conducting clinical informatics and data analysis for 80 physicians and some 300 support staff at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts. While there she implemented the Misys Healthcare System, built the initial file structure, designed training documentation and integrated a voice recognition program with the EMR. She has also held senior IT practice management positions at Parkland Physician Services in New Hampshire and at the Medical Manager NE Corporation in New York. Pennell earned a Master’s in education from the University of Massachusetts/Lowell and a B.S. in medical technology from Northeastern University, where she was honored on the Dean’s List.

Founded by orthopedic surgeon Eric S. Fishman, M.D., a long-time proponent for Electronic Medical Records, EMRConsultant.com conducts extensive research for evaluating EMR software programs based on core functional capabilities. The firm has developed a proprietary method to facilitate a systematic and comprehensive evaluation of medical records software products. It has surpassed initial projections since it launched a free online portal to help doctors better evaluate the hundreds EMR and EHR choices on the market.
